I am thrilled to have been awarded second place in the annual Rose Festival Art Show for my painting Spring Splendor. It was a wonderful honor. Many thanks to the juror and the Oregon Society of Artists for hosting the marvelous event.
I am delighted to announce that my painting, DESOLATION, was selected for the Watercolor Society of Oregon Spring 2021 Experimental Exhibition. Thank you to jurors Ken and Stephanie Goldman for including my art.
This piece is watercolor, inks and pencil on paper, and measures 20" H x 14" W. The subject was a model at the Philadelphia Sketch Club who was taking a break from posing. She was more interesting this way than when she was posing, so I took a quick shot with my cell phone.
Because of pandemic, the show will be able to be seen online. It opens April 1 and runs through May 5.
I will post information on how to view this show next month.
Winston seems to have found a new purpose in life. By the intensity of his stare, it's obvious that his mission in life, is to be my live in art critic.
I achieved a personal art goal in January 2015 by becoming a Signature Member of Northwest Watercolor Society (NWWS). This organization, founded in 1939 in Seattle, WA, hosts two exhibitions each year in and around the Seattle area. Signature membership is bestowed on members once they have had 3 paintings accepted into NWWS shows.

I recently learned that my painting BLISS was selected for exhibition at the NWWS Waterworks 2013 Exhibition. This show opens October 22 at the Tsuga Gallery Fine Art and Framing, in Bothel Washington. A big thank you to juror Michael Reardon for this honor.
Six months later, in April 2014, "Bliss" won an Award of Distinction in the WSO Spring show juried by Robert Burridge, who said "many people might see this image at the beach, but Marjorie PAINTED it!"
I just found out that my painting "Girl with the Butterfly Tattoo" was juried into the Watercolor Society of Oregon (WSO) fall exhibit (juror Linda Doll). The 80 painting group show will be on display at the Southern Coos Hospital & Health Center from Oct. 4-December 27.
Also, next week I am thrilled to be taking a workshop by prominent watercolor artist Ted Nuttall. His portraits are fabulous plus I will be spending the week in Bend Oregon.
It doesn't get better than that!
